This is NOT the way
Let’s be honest here.
If the computing industry has proven anything in the last two decades, it is this:
It has no idea how to keep your data protected and private.
How many headlines and notifications of data breaches have we seen just this year? And last year?
But now that we have AI with unproven protection mechanisms that have already, repeatedly been shown to be inadequate, “Just trust us”?
How blind to reality does one have to be to proffer such optimism as he is doing here?
Speaking as a veteran of the software industry who has also worked extensively in both commerce and fraud - This is irresponsible: Just trust AI with your data! What could go wrong?
Meanwhile, Geoffrey Hinton, the Nobel Prize winner and father of much of modern AI, left Google (same company as the guy in the video) so he could speak without inhibition strong warnings about how AI is being progressed without proper safeguards.
